I spent the day styling the beautiful Shook Twins for their video with my uber talented friend, Ben Darwish.

Lately///In Gray Scale
Lately...working (you know the place), playing (do not mix champagne & instagram), drawing (sometimes I feel things and they make art) & shopping (secret store in PDX where I buy naturally felled antlers and turtle shells - not so secret stores where I buyy $25 selvage denim). Life is a pretty neat thing and I'm enjoying it.

Central Seattle Library
I spent a couple hours wandering around the beautiful Central Seattle Library while I was in Seattle for my birthday. The details and craftmanship that went into this beautiful building blew my mind. If you are ever in Seattle make sure you go - but go with someone who knows the building so you can see all of the magical pieces.

A Waterfall Braid///revised
I've been doing my own take on a waterfall braid recently.
I begin with a french braid near my right temple and slowly let it drape down to a braid on my left.
I only add hair from the top and let the hair around the nape of my neck fall loosely. So instead of adding hair with each plate like you would with a standard french braid I only add hair every other plate. So easy, it takes literally five minutes.

High-waisted Slacks///
I'm in love with my new slacks that I found while digging in the Goodwill bins. The waistband makes me so happy.

Chalkboard /// Accept the good
I cherish the chalkboard my friend Jake gave me when he moved away. I've done a lot of chalkboard work in the past for local businesses in Portland...but I'm taking the opportunity to do a little "time based art" in my own home.

January Necessities
January necessities - so many layers are needed this month - even when it comes to accessories.
(Vintage brass earrings, a feather charm necklace made from an old earring, Crystal Noir by Versace, cheap black gloves, tortoiseshell specks for indoors and out - the eyeglasses are Reynolds and the shades are vintage, 5 year diary, vintage leather/metal/wood bangles, black mardi gras beads, rings old and new)
My favorite new piece is this little 5 year diary. Just an inch of space per a day, per year - all 5 years on one page. Can't wait to look back on all of this. Wondering where I'll be 5 years from now...
My collection of rings are number 2 - the love ring is a gift from one of my best friends and a staple, the turquoise is new as of the holidays and the button ring was made by my roommate...in love. (Sparkly nailpolish for good measure - jazz hands)

90's
Apparently going to a cocktail party in Portland these days ends up looking like a 90's basement party.

Cannon Beach
By Cat
We found this amazing little fort that someone had built before us. It didn't take us long to string up my old tattered flag and made a day of ot shooting footage for a film Libby is working on while Cat and I snapped photos on our various cameras and iPhones. It was clear and crisp and completely wind free. Which on the Oregon coast = magic.

Nubby Twiglet and a familiar chalkboard ///
So fun to see so many bloggers spreading the word about Schoolhouse and all of our new products and our new showroom. I came across the Nubbytwiglet blog today and was so excited to see my chalkboard photographed.
As it says on the chalkboard, very exciting, Anna Mara Flowers and Ristretto Roasters will be part of our showroom by our Grand Opening on December. 1st.

Styling with Schoolhouse Electric///PART ONE
Schoolhouse Electric launched our new line of home goods and furniture this past week. Have you seen? I couldn't be more excited to be a part of this company. I had the opportunity to assistant style our catalog photo shoot this past summer here in Portland at our factory and a house in SW.
Im so happy to finally unveil the images that I am so proud to have helped create.
Im so happy to finally unveil the images that I am so proud to have helped create.
This image is from our catalog insert that was shot by the uber talented Shawn Records - (my arm, haha, and) an inspiration board I created with the lifestyle team.
I learned so much from the amazing stylist Lili Diallo with whom I had the awesome opportunity to work.
"Every shot needs a little bit of kook..." ♥
The shot on the left was my absolute favorite to style. From the bike in the entry way to the arrow poised on the side of the vase.
More shots to come...

Undercut and Inspired///
So, about a month ago I went ahead and did it - I undercut my hair. This may be one of the first photos that actually displays it well. I feel like most of the time it just doesn't show up. I really loving it...I tend to get bored with long hair so this feels like such a good way to switch it up and still feel feminine.
Undercut in all it's glory.
Also, does this photo feel similar to the piece I drew below? I'm taking self portraits of myself for a pen and ink series I'm doing. More to come...

Line Work///
Recognizing more and more at this point in my life that all I really want to do is make things. I lost that for a long time. Last night my tired hands drew...
