60's Inspired///Vanessa Jackman and MiH Jeans

I'm feeling totally inspired by big hair and heavy eyeliner after the little film shoot I participated in. I love her styling so much it hurts a little.

LOVEthis///Perfectly Styled Socks

I love these dusty blue ankle socks paired with these coral platforms. Then I love even more that the dress and hair is really simple and makes them pop!

P.S. Gonna work on getting my hair to look like that - we'll see how it goes. :)

Thursday Thoughts

1. This little plastic deer sits on my desk at work.  He's been with me since the beginning of my time at Schoolhouse.
2. A new discovery today - sweet and salty Gramma Jan's popcorn. Better than Kettle Corn. I SWEAR!
3. Pretty vintage books at the local Goodwill.
4. Trying out a new color - Pretty grey nail polish.
5. How cute is Jorie's sweater? She found it at Goodwill, altered it and added leather elbow patches. LOVE

Gypsy Wedding

A magical and dreamy backdrop for a wedding.

I have to be honest - I didn't love the fashion styling on this shoot - beautiful for every day, not for a wedding.  But the prop styling? SO beautiful and amazing. Simple perfect.

J CREW///video

J Crew has a genius and seemingly effortless way of styling their clothing. This video is super duper cute and gives me load of inspiration.

I want: those strappy sandals, that striped shirt and THOSE LEGS! Well if I can't have the last one, I will at least be well dressed.

I Love MothLove

This clothing is sex on a cow skin rug.

Portland-based designer Gretchen Jones' ol' fashioned hunter & gatherer approach begs us to reverse and reevaluate our methods of production. MothLove's earthy pieces reject the current state of synthetic production and reflect the traditional methods consumer's once demanded. Each piece in Jones' collection[s] are hand crafted. In a Lewis Carroll-esque twist, MothLove is inspired by different caterpillars (accessories) and moths (garments).

Chop it up!

I saw this and new I must have it for Fall

I think I'll make this rather than buy it. So easy to fringe a big old scarf or a long strip of jersey.

Neutral, Natural, Modern

Neutral, Natural, Modern...my style mantra. As long as 2 of the 3 are encompassed in something I am thinking about purcahsing for my home, then it's a go. This item however was a find, it encompasses all three!!! This Jewelry stand was $26 at Urban Outfitters and is painted white metal (there is also a bronze version). It is absolutely perfect for holding all of my baubles.

NOTE: RECYCLE YOUR JEWELRY!!!! Pass it on to loved ones. Many of my necklaces and bracelets are gifts from my mother's jewelry chest. The red beads (right), thick gold bangle (center), cobalt ceramic large beaded necklace(left) were purchased when she worked at a store in Eugene, OR in the 80's!!! The store, Folk Ways, is still around and is a wonderful place when shopping for wordly finds. The owners shop for all of the wonderful items on their journeys around the world.
