Long Exposure Photography of Fireflies

I've always dreamt of seeing fireflies. Some day I hope to see them; nature's magic in one of it's truest forms. These insects don't exist out here in the NW. Every time someone has tried to bring them over the mountains (not that they should) from the eastern US they perish. These are some beautiful long exposure shots of fireflies that remind me of a story book I read growing up that I think must have been the beginning of this fantasy.

Givenchy anyone?

Thinking about purchasing some fabric paint and putting scary animals on sweatshirts. I'm tired of wolves howling at moons.

Some Old Film///

Just got this roll scanned in from the holidays last year and our road trip from Oregon to California. Looking at these photos and seeing holiday commercials on the tv are making me happy. It's only Halloween and all this cheer just makes me want to savor this holiday season. I'm ready to breath in every spice, cooking smell and fresh pine scent I can.

Vintage Illustrations///Lackluster Co

I love elephants - Ketch loves big cats. Our animal love has progressed into us having some pretty strange art. But these two piece are so quaint, classic and masculine. The are simple and not cheesy which I love. Drawn in the 1940's, I think these original illustrations are beautiful.

Working Like A Dog

Just another day at the office.

This photo from the people at Free People makes me think that two dogs are better than one at the work place.  Maybe it's time for me to get a pup?

I think Bosco my bosses Frenchie needs a friend.

Collage Art///Meryl Smith

Loving these new collages from Meryl Smith. Her blog post are few and far between - but oh so worth it. Witty, often sculptural pieces that blow my mind every time.

Playful Plants

I've always had a thing for lng-neck dinosaurs. They are just the sweetest things - they make me feel the same way elephants do. i just can't help but love the gentle giant.

These planters are so great. They would be the most amazing way to bring plants into a child's room!

Plaid Pigeon was making these but it looks as though they are hiatus. I guess it's time to go plastic toy shopping!

Strap and Field has the sweet little notecards available on their website. I'm trying to figure out a potato print version of that elephant I can make at home. So cute.

I'm fawning over this little fawn.

Im fawning over this fawn. I mean this little deer is so dear.

Sigh, I could go on for days. But actually, it's a young elk...no fun puns for that one.

However, I could just gaze into that elk's eyes all day long.

This is an image from gentle pure space's flickr. Great photog.

Happy Friday!
