I woke one beautiful Saturday morning to a hustle and bustle that is unusual in my quiet, old fashioned neighborhood of St. John's. Funtastic, the company that sets up state and county fairs had literally set up shop in the lot next to my house. The back of the fun house butted up against side yard. A view of carnies smoking cigarettes, trying to hide from the crowd and the heat was the view from my bedroom window. At 11 am the parade started, so my brother, sister and I, coffee and camera in hand stumbled out to the corner to take in the glitter and grit of the st. john's bazaar.
