I love this woven drink bucket from West Elm. So much prettier than a cooler, eh?

We'll be taking this guy with us for trips to Sauvie Island.

Work ::: Fashioned

Rad inspiration for work wear. Denim shorts may not be an option, but the loose hair, glasses, button up and a tie with Oxfords will have to happen.

These beautiful photos were taken in Cannes by the talented  Drew Innis out of Brooklyn.

Heavy Brows and Center Parts

I love how this look is back. It's like I'm looking at a photo of my Mom from the late 60's, early 70's.

The texture and old world quality the floor gives this kitchen is totally rad.

Wonder if it would be a bitch to clean or if it would make life a cinch?

Ponchos Are Always a Good Thing

Ponchos come and go in Trendland - but for me they're always a 'yes'. There are so many interpretations - ways they can be worn and layered. This sweatshirt hooded version from Quicksilver called the Bonfire Poncho is a totally rad incarnation of what I consider a classic piece.

Vintage Illustrations///Lackluster Co

I love elephants - Ketch loves big cats. Our animal love has progressed into us having some pretty strange art. But these two piece are so quaint, classic and masculine. The are simple and not cheesy which I love. Drawn in the 1940's, I think these original illustrations are beautiful.

HELLOkatey///oh hey there gym

So I've had a gym membership for...well...forever. But I never went, it was a total waste of money.

Maybe some new workout clothes will help my attitude?

I got a free pass to a different gym closer to my house and work and realized I am truly a creature of convenience. Driving across town to go to the gym? Bummer. Stopping at the gym on my way home from work? No problem.  So I cancelled one membership and started another. I'm spending $5 (a latte and a muffin) more on the gym that's closer to me...which means I'm spending who know how much less on gas. Obviously there is no question which was a better deal in the long run if I'll actually go to this new place.

I have my meeting with a personal trainer next week. Goals Goals Goals will be made. They'll take my measurements, evaluate my BMI and give me a plan for my gym regimen.

My first goal? To actually want to put on some shorts this summer. Wish me luck.

Inspiration Board///Neutral & Color

I love the combinations of patterns, textures and a single color that bring this mood board together.

Make Some Thing Cool Every Day.

I'm making a new rule for myself. Don't turn on the tv - and if I do turn on the tv, make sure I have created something first. From simply drawing in my sketchbook, to painting, to creating tags for HELLOvintage, I need to use this part of me more. It's important.

I'll keep you updated on how this is going.

HELLOvintage///TO DIE FOR Designer Bathrobes

I have to share with you guys one of my BEST finds ever.

This is a Pierre Cardin Southwest patterned full length hooded robe.

Holy beejeezus.

The is basically a couture snuggy my friends. Isn't the pattern f*&^ing AMAZING? I nearly died when I found it. It's in nearly mint condition. Reminds me a little of the booty buddy from urban.

And yes, it's for sale. I'll show you the Christian Dior robe I found next!

Love, Katey

Triangle ΔΔΔ LOVE///Studio Rita Wallpaper

It feels super counterintuitive to post this colorful wallpaper after my last post. But this would be such a great accent wall - or maybe to lining the back of a china hutch or bookcase?  I die.

Ooo lining a china hutch? I have a china hutch! Guess who's going to the paper store today?

Loving Neutrals

So I rent here in Portland. We're in a big old Victorian where it seems like every room is a different color.  Not colors we chose, but colors the landlord chose.

Still...color, sounds fun right? Yes, but to an extent...It seems impossible to find a cohesive design theme.

I dream daily of living in a house with white and grey walls. White, Black and natural materials will decorate. But then maybe...just maybe, there will be little pops of color here and there - think art or plants.

This room, these walls, those colors - yep, I want it all.

HELLOvintage///The Inspiration Behind The Store

I've always wanted to start my own business. To be a creative and do what I love to pay the bills. I have nothing but amazing things to say about my amazing day job! I work for a company that is fully a part of American manufactured design. With rad business ethics and a killer aesthetic - this is where I want to be. But as an Aquarius I'm constantly dreaming. Dreaming of being an Interior Designer which I am slowly but surely making happen...dreaming of starting a vintage store which I'm slowly but surely making happen (WOOHOO)...dreaming of producing my own decorative designs...dreaming of traveling...dreaming of having my own store front by the time I'm 30... and UBER dreaming of going to the Ace Camp taught by the uber talented blogger Erin Loechner, the voice behind one of my favorite blogs, Design For Mankind

This camp focuses on wrangling your career aspirations and working towards a plan to bring them to fruition.

It is this June and financially it's going to be tight to come up with the $359 needed to attend.  I want to make this happen - but while investing in starting a business doesn't leave funds for extra activities.  Even if they are the activities that help move a girl along her chosen path. But - invest in one's future, yes? It's important.

So I'm rallying for support. I need to raise the $359 to go take part in this amazing opportunity. And I will be fully honest and say I could use all of the help I can get. My new vintage clothing and home goods shop, HELLOvintage opens in May. But if you are local I am more than happy to set up personal shopping experiences (and tea and cookies) for anyone in the area.

For those out of the Portland area I the men's and ladies' clothing up on my Flickr NOW (and more and more all the time)! If you would like information on a specific item please contact me and I will give you measurements, price and shipping costs.

Your purchases will go towards me attending the Ace Camp this June (and help me follow my dreams).

I truly appreciate all of the support received from family, friends and bloggers. This is an exciting time and I am thrilled to share it with you.

Love, Katey

Chef Drew Teaches Us /// HOW TO CUT AN ONION

Have you ever wondered how restaurants perfectly dice their onions? Well here's your chance to find out!

Ha Ha

My cutest of cutesers friend Cassi is dating the cutest of cutesers man. His name is Drew and he cooks at one of Portland's best restaurants, Toro Bravo (which I'm so lucky to have right around the corner from my house!). For a class Cass had to make a how to video - so she had her man, Chef Drew, teach us how to chop an onion.  It's totally helpful!

I was supposed to go with these purdy ladies on this photo adventure but was holed up on the couch with a heating pad after a spill down my super steep stairs. Holy F*$^ it was scary. But these photos make me wish I'd hobbled my way out there.

Shot these and more on her Olympus out in Hood River, Oregon about 45 minutes outside of Portland.
