Sharing the Pendleton Love///

Over Valentine's weekend Ketch and I went over to the coast and happened across a Pendleton Outlet Store. We pulled a u-turn and hauled ass back to the store which looked a little too Liz Claiborne from the window displays. But we could see the wall of blankets in the back and knew it was worth the stop.

(ignore the hideous bed)

I could have spent hundreds of dollars on all of the pretty little sweeties that were in that shop. Blankets and button ups were well priced and they had some fun paraphernalia that we could have easily bought if we weren't trying to be thrifty.

I really wanted to come home with this lil buddy. It was just a perfect coat - but I really do own too many jackets.

(please disregard the coast hair and dressing room lighting)

But then there were the matching shorts. Stay still my dear heart, stay still. I recently posted another dreamy pair and really couldn't believe when these were just sitting there on the rack in Seaside, OR. (The little joys that come with living in the state where Pendleton is manufactured). They were soo cute and soo affordable. I went back and forth and about whether or not I should just get them and always wear them with tights. But in the end decided they were soo not ok on my chubby, white Oregonian thighs.

These they had to go to another dear that could sport them all year long in sunny LA. So a short USPS trip later and they arrived for cute Haley. So good!

So i did have to leave the store with something, so I picked up one of their AEWSOMELY HUGE beach towels I've been eying forever at Urban

(sorry for the blurry iphone image)

I love wrapping it around me like a blanket after a shower. For me, Pendleton is heaven.

Raspberry Suit

How exactly does something like a brightly hued business suit translate into real life? By pairing it with casual and unexpected accessories. A chunky knit cap, layers of bracelets and big shades take this suit from a very likely fashion faux pas to effortlessly hip.

A Valentines Tent///

This past Saturday, as an early Valentine's Day treat for Ketch, I turned our bedroom into a romantic tent. It's so funny 'cause yesterday there seemed to be posts all over the place about making indoor tents out of blankets and other things around the house.  I guess we were all in the mood for good 'ol  inexpensive romance.

Tons of pillows and blankets draped over the bed made it uber cozy. I used a staple gun to hang a set of lace curtains and other various linens from the house over our bed. We have lath and plaster walls so putting big hooks in the walls to string up the blankets and sheets was not an option. The staple gun made it so easy. I just made sure to staple along seams so I wasn't putting holes in the middle of my curtains.  Once the tent was up I pulled the curtains back with wooden clothes pins for a view of the tv - but when you get rid of the pins the curtains close and it's our own little gypsy tent.

(The twinkle light ceiling of our tent)

I strung twinkle lights over the top of the tent to make it glow. Some Ikea curtains I had laying around were a perfect tent roof.

I also used my Marconi bulb that I bought forever ago to add some extra ambiance.

This was such a fun surprise. I ended up ordering Thai food and we ate it in our little tent while watching some movies and snugglin all night long.

The funniest thing is that he likes the tent so much, I don't know if I'll ever be allowed to take it down.

A Very Good Deal///Creatures of Comfort

One of my favorite little shops, Creatures of Comfort, is having a rad sale on a bunch of my favorite styles. I just finished my taxes and am getting an equally rad return! First time that's EVER happened! I'm going to be responsible with most of it, but I think I deserve a little treat.

I don't know what I'll pick!
