My girl: Haley Ann

My great friend Haley will be showing some of her work for First Friday at Redux . She's beautiful and so is her art. This time around it looks like there will be a "Space" theme to her work which will be embroidered! Yay, I can't wait to check it out!  Check out her blog and come by on Friday. She doesn't disappoint.

Fur...in a good way!

Im pretty anti fur (I had a faux fur themed birthday party)...but I'm pretty into these situations:

Design Sponge did an awesome feature on some furry makeovers. What do you think? I'm a pretty big fan.

I Love Iconography and Religious Art

Check out the house.

Now check out its bathroom!!!

I love these Virgin Mary Idols.  They are beautiful and traditional in such a modern space.  I grew up Catholic but am not practicing anymore.  But even though, this artwork sticks with me in that I will always appreciate the beauty in religious art. My boyfriend who has never been religious even appreciates it, which makes me appreciate him even more.

Fantasizing

Im fantasizing about all things desert, hippie and sex...they just make me want to run away in a vw van with my bebe and see what we can find.

Directions on how to make this teepee over at Smile and Wave.

You can rent this house north of Joshua Tree!

And my bedroom (or tent that I build) needs to look like this!

All of these things come together in one delicious oasis for me right now.

tattoo tuesday: amanda wachob

These tattoos by Amanda Wachob are pretty much the most beautiful pieces of permanent body art I've ever seen. Her conceptual and abstract pieces take the art of tattooing to a new level. Wow.

In the Sea There's No Such Thing As A Little Bit Of Rubbish

Design really can save the world. Wherther it's people designing earth friendly products or creating campaigns to keep people aware. To keep people Thinking. Check out these beautiful shots fromt the Surfrider Foundation's campaign, "IN THE SEA THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A LITTLE BIT OF RUBBISH." The campaign consists of beautiful images of the ocean waves, they draw the eye in with their use of light, texture and color. Then one realizes after looking a little closer that there's a tire floating int he wave, or maybe a gas can. Simply breathtaking photography too. Round of applause.

No room for a chimney?

Ever since I saw this fireplace on Apartment Therapy I've loved Bioalcohol fireplaces. There is no need for a chimney with the contained burn and the fireplace could go literally anywhere.

Check out this awesome porthole styled fireplace from Redwitz. It's called the Rondo. I can see it looking so cool in a very rustic space. Even repeated a couple times horizontally or covering a large expanse in a grid like pattern.

Forever Glasses

Y'all know how I dig some frames. But holy crap, tattoed glasses?! Never in a million years. I mean, what if I decided I look better in cat eye frames next year!?!?! Haha BALSY!
