For my bi-weekly laundry days...

So does anybody else have so many clothes from years of hoarding that they can literally go weeks without doing laundry?

I do, and this always ends up with me doing 3 days worth of constant laundry every 2 - 3 weeks. "Laundry every 2 - 3 weeks?" you say? Maybe that's why I've acquired so much, to account for my laziness. GROSS.

Anyway, I found this totally rad rolling Laundry Basket from Steele Canvas Basket. It is huge (2 bushels) and can roll where ever I need it to go! Woohoo! If not for me, maybe for one of my design clients. I kinda of feel like this is something everybody needs!

Rustic Luxury

Holy Bejeezus has anybody been into Anthro lately?
I bow to thee, Anthro Merchandising Designer. I think this will soon be my bed. Think I can convince Ketch? (note, I actually like the version built at the Portland Location more. They alternated the direction of the firewood which made it more interesting.)

Notice the layers... fire wood, sheepskin, mattress with beautiful white comforter, and that little corner piece? - that's a burlap bag. YEP a burlap bag. And all topped with wonderful cozy comfy pillows.

Pad See YUMMM

My favorite Thai dish in the world! Pad See Ew.

So I saved my friends Barry and Helena last night with a drive home from far away McIver State Park. And they awarded us with DINNER! YEAH! (Ketch and I had just been debating about how to spend the $5 in cash we had between us - Taco Bell?)

Helena had fallen and hurt her hip and was really ok...but they were planning on trekking all the way back to Ptown, which wouldn't have been ok. So i drove out in the "trusty" saab with Ketch. Helena's little bro was there too so this involved much adolescent bashing. I forgot how fun this could be and how well they can take it as well as dish it out!

So Bare and Helena took us to AppeTHAIzing (which by the way is right across from the better known Pok Pok), this AMAZING little hole in the wall Thai Food Place. We were one of 3 groups there on a wednesday evening and they took that to heart and made us the yummiest dinner ever. We ordered Salad Rolls...and subsequently dowsed them in peanut and snoked chili sauce. YUMM!

Then Ketch and I shared some curry (it was rad) and drumroll please...my favorite...PAD SEE EW. OH my god, yum yum yum yum yum.

If you have not tried this dish and ALWAYS GO ABOUT ORDERING THE SAME OLD PAD THAI cause you are too scared to order anything different? GO FOR THIS! It is truly, the best! Big thick noodles and more savory than Pad Thai it has by far surpassed my love of other asian food...even dare I say, sushi. So try it!

Beautiful Flora

Amazing Amazing floral arrangements...im just in awe. The color combination as well as the mixture of textures is stunning. Not only could I see these as my wedding floral arrangements but just in beautiful little vases all over my house. Anyone know what that center flower is surrounded by the lambs ear?

unexpected POPS OF COLOR

Been to j.crew lately? Their children's styling is always magnificent - mini fashion icons.

My favorite aspect of their fall color scheme however is the muted palettes with pops of color. Radical

Etsy Love: A Silver Garden

Moving in with ketch. I'm feeling a little nesty since I haven't had a true home of my own in a while and am an interior design major. I've been living with my married sister and her hubby for over a year now which has been rad...however they have their own style and their own things. No room for my stuff. So I keep to my room and that's ok. But now there is a new home, with a big kitchen, a bedroom with adjoining bath and a space for my arts and crafts. Even though I am moving into a house ketch already lives in I'm not moving in with all of his roommates. All of the old roomies are moving on to new things, and the space if only for a minute, will be almost like OURS. So OUR new thing is moving in together.

I smile a lot.

Though BMX boys will soon be sharing the halls with us, I think I will have to be the one to add a touch of beauty to the house. Ketch is handy and one roommate is even a contractor. RAD! I will bring the decorations. This Etsy site has me inspired in a few ways...

All of the below items are for sale at A Silver Garden's Etsy Store.

Designing a Work Space

I loved Down & Out Chic's piece on Crafty Spaces.

I am moving in with Ketch here pretty soon and will turn the open space at the top of stairs into my office/art space. Being in school, I need an organized location just for me where I can throw my clutter everywhere and put it away beautifully the next day.

Her piece has some great inspiration!

Love the storage!

Love the cutting table and full wall of shelves!

Oh that table!! That height is perfect for cutting all of my interior design presentation boards!

Whoa, I think i like pleats!

This is the first time I've appreciated pleats on a man...ever.

Well here's the photo that changed my mind. The cuffs! The chucks! The schwoopy hairstyle!

Mix & Match: Wood Tones

How do you feel about mixing and matching different types of wood?

Personally I love this combination of an almost driftwood colored wood paneling with the the natural wood trim. I think the different widths of the slats helps separate the two so they don't clash while the tones in the stone floor, the fur blankets and wood bench bring it all together as well. I'm glad this designer stopped at two. The simplicity of this room is truly tranquil. Very spa-like. If one was to add much more I think it would lose that feeling.

Portland to Sonoma...A Roadtrip: Leg One

So Ketch and I took a road trip back in June and I've finally gotten around to processing the photos. This wasn't just any road trip for me. It was the BIG meet-the-ENTIRE-family road trip and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was basically full of butterflies. I've never been with someone who's family is far away. Almost a year in and what if we don't get along? What if we don't mesh? GA! When I said this to Ketch all he said was, "You and me, we are the same. I love you, they will love you." And so with my love driving and I sitting shotgun, we held hands and I took a deep breath...and had one of the best trips ever.

We woke up super early to try and get down to San Francisco in one, easy fell swoop. We made PB&J's and stocked up on fluids. This drive would be no problem. It was nice and cool in oregon that morning. Overcast like it usually is until it burns off around noon. We got in the car, I kissed his cheek and we were off.

(note: my shoes are dolce vita. the style isn't around anymore but the brand always put out amazing sandals. They are also having the most amazing sandal sale online right now!)

We were already singing oldies and I think I was already munching on a sandwich when there was this loud BAM! We though we had run over something, but all seemed well. A minute later though he yelled out, "WE'VE GOT A FLAT TIRE!" Ofcourse we had to cross 4 lanes of freeway traffic to make it over to the side of the road. And yep, thar she blows, the flattest tire I ever did see. We didn't even make it past Bridgeport Village...I was ready to say "screw this" let's just go shopping (Bridgeport is one of those weird suburban meccas with an Anthro) but instead "I have roadside assistance," is what chimed out. Good girlfriend, good! Whew. But Brad wouldn't have no ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. "I've got this he said..."

...more later.
