Moccasin Love

This cover for Robert Redford's Sundance Clothing Catalog made my heart pitter patter. I got an amazing pair of moccasin's this winter from Aerosole on sale for $30. Such an awesome and comfortable look. I feel like this is j.crew's fall catalog or something...no?

I <3 Christopher David Ryan

I first discovered this artist about 3 or 4 years back. It was summer time and his images seemed to conjure up the feelings of teenage summers and warm nights leaving me feeling instantly connected to them. I just rediscovered him through Coco&Kelly and am right back there. University park, 80 degree nights, just graduated, summer love.

I believe I do need this over my bed.

forget me knot

My friend Ellie and I have a thing for beautiful and simple jewelry. She last gifted me with the sweetest little ring that spells out "love" in script. She has since moved to New York and even though those rings have faded to copper and tend to make our fingers green, i still wear that momento of our friendship...

I'm thinking though, after seeing this beautiful little ring from the online store Twine, that for $50, Ellie and I might need an upgrade.

What do you think? Isn't it just simple and beautiful? I also love the sentimentality behind it and the idea of having a "permanent" piece of string tied around one's finger. There is just no way to forget. <3

I would love to get Marc Johns' book that came out last Spring.

i've always had fantasies...

but i always hurt my tailbone. Do you have any unfullfilled childhood fantasies?

who has a pool?

via golden scans and cat eyes

Has anyone tried the local community pool scene here in Portland? i haven't...the pee thing has always kind of creeped me out. But the nostalgia of laying by the pool and that make out scene from The Sandlot having me craving the smell of chlorine. Oh Wendy Peffercorn!

Local Spotlight: Holly Stalder

Holly Stalder's
designs are truly gorgeous. Some of them look crafty enough that I might be able to try and make my own version. (I'll let you know how it goes). But all are design genious, and froma local gal at that. I love it!

I wish someone was getting married soon so I could style them and make them wear this!

Summer Romper Love

Portland girls have style.

I was already wanting a summery romper, but this photo from Urban Weeds made me realize a romper is a necessity for August.

Here are some more that I love:

Good Wood

This wearable art from Good Wood is f*in rad. I love the badass rings and "diamond" necklace. It reminds me of my boyfriend who developed fantasies of becoming a chain saw artist after driving through the redwoods and seeing all those bears. Baby, how 'bout no bears... cause I always wanted a diamond necklace.

Happy tuesday

What's on my mind as the week begins...

Check out Ingrid Michaelson's new single Maybe. Album due in out in August with a tour to follow. Yippee!

90 degree weather and I still haven't been to the beach at Sauvie Island.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale got me in shopping mode. But even with the sale I can't afford to shop there at the moment so I purchased a necklace that looks just like this Max&Chloe version for $2 instead.

Just started working towards my Sustainable Interior Design degree at The Art Institute of Portland.

PDXbrunch its easy like Sunday morning...

Psss, I have to tell you something! One of my favorite things in the entire world (if you can't tell by the photo of me at the top of my blog) is to sip coffee. I especially love sipping coffee while downing a bloody mary and munching on some homefries. Brunch, is truly my favorite meal...period. If I had to choose one thing to spend my money on once a week, it would be having a lazy sunday brunch with my boyfriend, family or friends.

It really is the one thing on the weekend that I can excitedly wake up early for. But I also love the fact that if Saturday night was decidedly roudy, my boy and I can spoon a little longer and wake up at 12:30 knowing that we can still take an hour to make it down to the local cafe to enjoy some french toast.

So, in homage to the best meal on the planet, I have started a blog for the people living in the best city on the planet, Portland. We are lucky to have so many wonderful eateries in this fair city that offer this perfect meal. I am making it my past time to try new brunches and breakfast, and let you also know about my old-stand-by-favorites. So c'mon, check out PDXbrunch, my new and fabulous blog! Cause we all need a little inspiration to roll out of bed on Sunday morning.
